GARNER - Henry "Hank" Kaduce, 87, of Garner died Thursday (April 21, 2011) at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Monday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., in Garner with Rev. Donna Buckman officiating. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery with military rites by the Garner Veterans Ceremonial Unit.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Sunday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel and will continue one hour prior to services on Monday.
Henry "Hank" Kaduce, the son of Daniel and Sena (Ruiter) Kaduce, was born November 12, 1923 at Goodell. He graduated from Klemme High School in 1941. Hank served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army Air Force. On July 8, 1949 he married Betty Chodur at the United Church of Christ parsonage in Klemme. They lived in Klemme until 1973 when they moved to Garner. Hank managed the Phillips 66 gas station in Klemme for a time and then drove truck for Hancock County Co-op Oil in Garner delivering propane to farms in the area. After thirty-eight years with the Co-op he retired in 1987. Hank also managed the Swan Motel in Clear Lake with his wife, Betty, for a number of years. He enjoyed fishing trip to Canada with his brother-in-law, Donald Chodur, and hunting.
He was a member of the Garner VFW and American Legion.
Hank is survived by his six children, Marcia (Larry) Kluckhohn of Garner, Barb (Wayne) Eenhuis of Garner, Jackie (Fred) Gustafson of Parker, CO, Peggy (James) Nelson of Britt, Dennis Kaduce of Redmond, WA and David Kaduce of Garner; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Ruth) Kaduce; two sisters, Freda DeToy and Delores (Don) Cole; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty, Nov. 30, 2009; a brother, Ed Kaduce; and a sister, Arlene Pommrehn.
