Alvin S. Klipping

FOREST CITY -- Alvin Klipping, age 92, formerly of Forest City, residing in Fort Myers, Florida, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers.



A visitation will be held on Friday, May 11 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. A Graveside Service is planned for shortly after noon on Friday at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City with Pastor Wayne Hagen officiating.



Following burial the family would like to invite friends to the United Methodist Church for a luncheon and time of fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.



Alvin Klipping was born on December 9, 1914 in Forest City, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Ida Klipping. Alvin met his wife, Elvera, and they were married September 1, 1936. He farmed in Iowa until he retired in 1978.



The couple moved to Ft. Myers, Florida in January 1990 where they resided until his death. Alvin enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.



He is survived by his children: Ron of Seattle, WA; Ruth (John) Kubinski of Ft. Myers, FL; Francis (Robyn) of Mandeville, LA; Fern (Art) Symens of Madison Lake, MN; Linda Eland of Ft. Myers, FL; and Donna (Jeff) Tollefson of Austin, MN. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.



Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, Elvera, his parents and a sister. He also lost his best friend, a dog named Chad.
