BRITT - Ardith Loeschen, 67, of Britt died Monday (April 12, 2010) at the Westview Care Center in Britt.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 16th at the Evangelical Free Church in Britt with Rev. Stan Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Titonka.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Thursday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Ardith Irene Loeschen, the daughter of Harley and Elida (Stecker) Brandt, was born May 18, 1942 at Mason City. She graduated from Titonka Consolidated High School in 1960. On March 10, 1961 she was married to Neal Loeschen at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka. They farmed the Loeschen family farm southeast of Titonka until 1994 when they moved to a farm east of Crystal Lake. On November 16, 2000, Neal passed away. Ardith remained on the farm until moving to Forest City in November of 2001. In August of 2009 she moved to the Summit House in Britt. Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren. Ardith also enjoyed praying with her Tuesday morning prayer group, reading, listening to music, Bible studies and reading God's Word.
She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Britt and Christian Women's Club in Forest City.
Ardith is survived by her mother, Elida Brandt of Titonka; three sons, Paul (Jana) Loeschen of Britt, Duane (Deanna) Loeschen of Mason City and Gary (Pat) Loeschen of Forest City; grandchildren, Breana, Hilary, Melissa and Monica Loeschen, Brittany Meyer, Drake and Derek Loeschen and Isaiah and Jon Loeschen; three sisters, Margaret (Merle) Phelps of Titonka, Dorothy Meisterburg of Des Moines and Bonnie (Fred) Eisenstadt of Sacramento, CA; a brother, Robert (Carolyn) Brandt of Titonka; a brother-in-law, Laurence (Violet) Loeschen of Titonka; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal, Nov. 16, 2000; her father, Harley; and granddaughter, Zimry Loeschen, Jan. 22, 2003.
