Barbara A. Rosenberger

Barbara A. Rosenberger, 77, of Garner, formerly of Mason City, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, at Concord Care Center in Garner.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Concord Care Center in Garner with Rev. Clevey Ragsdale of the Garner Evangelical Free Church officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Bright-colored clothing is suggested to be worn at the service in memory of Barbara.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the care center.

 Barbara Ann Rosenberger, the daughter of Jake and Barbara (Stahl) Gross, was born on April 17, 1946, in Huron, SD. She attended school in South Dakota and was a homecoming queen candidate her senior year. On November 16, 1963, she married Francis Gene Rosenberger in Dakota City, NE. They lived in Mason City all of their married life where Barb worked various jobs including hostess at the Sheraton for 13 years, home health aide for three years, and a waitress at the Rose Bowl for two years.  Barb was very proud of her family’s food truck that they took around to local town celebrations including Duesey Days in Garner. She loved being a mother and raising flowers in front of her house in Mason City. In July 2020, she moved to Concord Care Center in Garner.  Barbara enjoyed listening to Elvis and Vince Gill, painting ceramics, watching Wheel of Fortune, coloring pictures for staff and their families, and making beaded jewelry. She always looked forward to having the staff at Concord do her hair for her and she loved her “rouge” and lipstick.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mason City.

Barb is survived by her brother, Gordon (Mary) Cross of Huron, SD; many nieces and nephews; and special caregivers at Concord Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis in 2011; son, Bradley in 2000; and three brothers, Dennis, Gene, and Billy Gross.
