FOREST CITY ñ Betty Mae Hockett, 78, of Forest City died Tuesday (July 22, 2008) at her home in Forest City.
According to her wishes, Betty will be cremated with no services or visitation.
Betty Mae Hockett, the daughter of Charles and Elsie (Monsen) Wilson, was born August 29, 1929, in Forest City. She attended school at Forest City and worked at Bowen Grocery Store and at the Bungalow as a waitress. On September 12, 1949, she was married to Laverne W. Hockett in California. They lived in California and Oregon before retiring to Pismo Beach, CA. In 1994, they moved to Forest City. She enjoyed needlework and flower gardening.
Betty is survived by her husband, Laverne Hockett of Forest City; two children, Larry Hockett of Senora, CA and Verna (Don) Dahlin of Shingletown, CA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many brothers and sisters in the north Iowa area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Ricky Hockett.
