Beverly Kay Rasmuson, the daughter of Roland and Bonnie (Alitz) Edgar, was born on September 26, 1942, in Mason City. She attended school in Rock Falls and Manly, graduating from North Central High School in 1960. Beverly attended La James School of Cosmetology in Mason City and then ran her own salon in Manly. In 1966, Bev met the love of her life, Tom Rasmuson. They were united in marriage on June 4, 1967 in Manly. The couple resided in Crystal Lake where Tom was employed at Crystal Lake Furniture. During their years in Crystal Lake, they were blessed with two daughters, Carlene and Erin. In 1976, the Rasmusons built a new store in Garner, and the family moved to Garner. Beverly was instrumental in helping the business thrive and grow, doing much of the decorating and purchasing for the store. She was very artistic and enjoyed many hobbies in addition to her work at the store. Her embroidery work was admired by everyone blessed to receive a set of dish towels from her. Beverly also got involved in Girl Scouting, first as a troop leader for her daughters, then as a service unit manager, and eventually serving on the board of the North Iowa Girl Scout Council. She served as president of the North Iowa Girl Scout Council and received two of Girl Scouting’s highest honors, the Thanks Badge and the Thanks Badge II. She was very proud of her work with the Girl Scouts.

Beverly was a very proud grandmother to five grandchildren, Andrea (Platt) Weinrick, Scott (Jessica) Czarnik, Ben Czarnik, Emma (Adam) Denner, and Kellen (Olivia) Schmidt. She also leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by her husband of 57 years Tom; daughter Carlene Czarnik of Appleton, WI; and daughter Erin (Ryan) Schmidt of Burt; siblings, Karen Eppens, Pat Edgar, and Jay (Carolyn) Edgar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Helen and Rolf Rasmuson; sister, Merri Matteson and her husband John; brother, Curtis Edgar; and brother-in-law Gary Eppens.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Concord Care Center and St. Croix Hospice for their loving and compassionate care shown to Beverly.
