FOREST CITY - Bonnie Hoeft, 79, of Sturgeon Lake, MN., formerly of Forest City, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at her son's home in Sturgeon Lake, MN., following a long illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 6, at Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark Street, Forest City with Pastor Justin Asche officiating.
Inurnment will be in Madison Township Cemetery, Forest City.
Bonnie Dean Hoeft was born on March 27, 1934, in Swea City, IA. She was one of eight children of Herman and Katie (Nelson) Weaver. She grew up on a farm north of Thompson and attended Scarville school, where she graduated in 1952.
In 1953, she moved to Forest City, where she attended Waldorf College for the Nurse's Aid Program. Bonnie acquired a position at the Forest City Hospital, where she worked for 22 years, before retiring.
On February 23, 1953, Bonnie was united in marriage to Dennis Hoeft of Forest City. To this union, three sons were born.
Survivors include her three sons, Steven (Diane) Hoeft of Sturgeon Lake, MN., Michael (Karen) Hoeft of Forest City, and Kevin (Cheryl) Hoeft of Garner; one brother, Cecil (Paula) Weaver of Mason City; one sister, Lois (Leonard) Harms of Forest City; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; her parents; two sisters, June and Shirley; three brothers, Herman (Bud), Dennis, and Allen; grandson, Branden Brock; and nephew, Vernon Weaver.
