Brittany Renett L'shea Johnson

Brittany R. L. Johnson, 33, of Britt passed away Friday, June 11, 2021.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner with Pastor Terrence Brown officiating.  The service will be livestreamed on the Cataldo Funeral Home Facebook page.  

Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral chapel on Thursday.

Brittany Renett L’shea Johnson was born May 15, 1988 in Chicago, IL to the late Tommy Johnson, Jr. and Kelli E. Owens.  Brittany grew up in Aurora, IL where she attended high school.  After high school she worked various jobs in the Chicagoland area and always came to work with a smile.  On January 3, 2008, she was married to Jeremy Cherry in Chicago and together they had five children.  Brittany loved her children very much and was a “hands on” mom always being there for them.  The family moved to Northwood, Iowa in 2010 and Garner in 2016.  In 2019, she moved to Britt. Brittany enjoyed listening to music and drawing with her children.

She was a member of Harvest Bible Church in Clear Lake and was a past member of Open Arms Church in Garner.

Brittany left to be with the Lord on Friday June 11, 2021 and is survived by her mother, Kelli Owens of Kanawha; five children, Khyla, Khandice, Khassidy, KhamRon and Khendra Cherry; eight siblings, Brandon Terry, Ashlee Johnson, Tommy Johnson III, Julian Washington, Takiya Johnson, Aubrey Johnson, Jacquenette Wilson and Jahmel Johnson; maternal grandparents, Jerry Martin and Anita Owens; paternal grandparents, Tommy Johnson, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Johnson;and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy, Jr. in 2008; and a twin brother in infancy.
