Bruce G. Clement

Bruce G. Clement, 72, of Garner, passed away unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Up 4 Celebrations Event Center, 300 N. State St., in Garner, followed by a reception to honor his life from 4 to 7 p.m. Cataldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bruce Gordon Clement, the son of Roland and Eugenia (Riff) Clement, was born August 20, 1952, in Forest City, Iowa. He attended school in Miller and graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1970. He continued his education at several colleges in Iowa and Minnesota, and he loved sharing stories about those days. On August 24, 1985, he married the love of his life, Laurel Brown at the United Methodist Church in Garner. They lived in Garner all their married life where they raised their three children. Bruce had a long-time career in the concrete business and was honored to help local farmers whenever he had the opportunity. He was a selfless, kind, hard-working man that everyone could count on and so many called friend. Bruce was humbly wise in the most special way. His family is forever grateful to have such a special husband, dad, and grandpa and will cheer on the Cyclones with pride for him.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Laurel, of Garner; three children, Josah Clement (Josh Anderson) of Lauderdale, MN, Chelsea (Jordan) Hubred and their three children, Rosie, Ellis and Fern of Roseville, MN and Logan (Courtney) Clement and their daughter, Elsie of Urbandale; an honorary son, Marcin (Bethany) Cecot and their children, Myah and AJ of Indianola; siblings, Elizabeth Clement Smith (Dan) of Coon Rapids, MN, Craig (Juanita) Clement of Garner, Joan Hillier (Bob Dalmeny) of Chehalis, WA, Doug Clement of Garner, Spencer Clement of Garner, Stuart Clement of Garner and Muriel (Scott) Poppens of Cedar Falls; a brother-in-law, Kevin (Michiko) Brown of Gunnison, CO; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Neal and Gary Clement.
