WODEN - Calvin H. Eden, 88, of Woden died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Westview Care Center in Britt.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, April 20th at First Presbyterian Church in Woden with Rev. Dr. Glenn Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Bingham Township Cemetery south of Woden with military rites by the Woden Veterans Ceremonial Unit.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Woden and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Calvin Harvey Eden, the son of George and Jennie (Bruns) Eden, was born November 21, 1924 on a farm near Woden. He attended Woden High School and helped his family on the farm. Calvin served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army being stationed in Japan. Following his time in the service, he returned to Woden and farmed with his sister, Nettie. In 1984, Calvin and Nettie moved into Woden.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a church elder and was active on other church boards.
Calvin is survived by two sisters, Delores Hansen and her husband, John, of Minneapolis, MN and Della Manning of Mesa, AZ and her special friend, Lyle Bunn; a sister-in-law, Darlene Eden Klasse of Forest City; two nieces; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Jeanette Mary Eden; sister, Nettie Eden; brothers, Harold Eden and Glen (Mary) Eden; and a brother-in-law, Curtis Post.
