Carrie Amanda Greiman was born August 5, 1921, to Elmer and Bertha (Hall) Anderson on a farm near Ventura, Iowa. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age at an evangelistic tent meeting. He has proven Himself faithful to her at every turn of her life. She loved growing up on the farm with her parents, four older brothers, and her grandma Anderson. Carrie was introduced to the love of her life at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, Bernard “Bud” Greiman. Their courtship extended through when Bernard served in the Army during World War II. They married on December 20, 1946, and moved to a farm southwest of Garner. A few years later they moved to a farm nearby which would prove to be their permanent home. They were blessed with five daughters and one son. Carrie especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved life on the farm and being involved with her local church. A couple of things she really enjoyed were playing cards and gardening.
Her love for Jesus touched all who knew her. The legacy she leaves to us is a greater understanding of the never-ending grace and loving kindness of God.
Carrie is survived by her daughters, LaDonna Mourning of Rochester, MN, Vickie Greiman, Beth Greiman, and Tracy (Rob) Petersen all of Ankeny; her son, Garrett Greiman of Sycamore, IL; son-in-law, Joe Hale of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Carrie (Terry) Mourning, Kelli (Mike) Gendron, Ben (Jessica) Hale, Daniel (Brooke) Hale, Jed (Whitney) Hale, Wesley (Hillary) Hale, Alex (Gisel) Petersen, Amy Petersen, Nate Petersen; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard (Bud); and her daughter, Annalee Hale.
