Cecil V. Noble, 73, of Garner, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa in Mason City.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Tuesday, January 23rd at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner with a memorial service at 7 P.M. by Rev. Paul Evans. Following the service the family invites everyone for a time of fellowship at the Garner VFW.
Cecil Vernon Noble, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Carolus) Noble, was born March 26, 1944 in Garner. He graduated from Garner High School in 1962. On August 19, 1967 he married Mary Netland at the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake. They lived in Garner all of their married life. Cecil worked for Hancock County and operated a DX Station in town for a few years. He then worked for Waste Management for 32 years until his retirement. He enjoyed working on cars, watching Westerns and playing Solitaire.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Lisa (Dennis) Heitland of Thornton, Shelley (Steve) Mace of Garner and Sara (Don) Lumley of Ardel; grandchildren, Josh Henley (fiancée, Kelcey Olson), Steven (Ariel) Cook, Suzi Cook (Eric Welsh), Jason Cook (Deva Hernandez), Collin Cook, Jordan Vossberg (Phil Pruessner), Cody Mace, Cassidy Mace, Taylor Vossberg (Mark Peterson), Travis Lumley and Kevin Lumley; a great grandson, Kale Pruessner; a sister, Delores Riherd; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Corrine Osborne, Harriet Smith and Bill Noble.
