Clayton A. Prestholt, 97, of Garner passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, at Concord Care Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Garner Public Library - Senior Citizens Room with Jon Rollefson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Clayton Arthur Prestholt, the son of George and Blanche (Stone) Prestholt, was born November 1, 1924, in Star City, Saskatchewan, Canada. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1942. Clayton served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army during WW II under the direction of General Patton. Upon his honorable discharge, he moved to Chicago, Illinois and graduated from a chiropractic college. Clayton returned to north Iowa to be near family and worked as a manager at Erickson’s True Value Hardware in Garner. He enjoyed traveling and was a very spiritual man.
Clayton is survived by his sister, Arlene Greiman of Garner; two nephews, Jeff (Rita) Greiman of Boylston, MA and George (Nina) Greiman of Garner; a niece, Jody (Rudy) Marmaro of Colorado Springs, CO; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Dale Prestholt; and brother-in-law, Kermit Greiman.
