Darla Dee Allison

Darla D. Allison, age 54 of Forest City, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at her home in Forest City. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 19 at 10:00 AM in the Rock Garden Room at Paradise Parties in Clear Lake, Iowa. Pastor Ron McKee from Britt Zion Church of the Nazarene will be officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Jubilee Cemetery in Jesup, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Friday, August 18 at the Rock Garden Room, Paradise Parties in Clear Lake.



Darla Dee Maas was born on October 29, 1951 at Peoples Hospital in Independence, Iowa. She was the daughter of Henry J. and LaVonne A. (Luloff) Maas. She was baptized two weeks later in accordance to the Lutheran faith.





Her parents later divorced and LaVonne remarried Pastor John Albrecht who later adopted Darla in November of 1957. Darla lived in various places in Iowa and Wisconsin during her childhood. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the spring of 1966 at Stratford, Wisconson. She was a graduated of Stratford High School in 1969. She moved back to Iowa and attended Wartberg College in Waverly.





On March 23, 1974, Darla married Gregory Lee Allison. To this union two daughters were born ñ Amber Lynne and Amanda Lee. About 1980 Darla rededicated her life to the Lord and started to attend the Zion Church of the Nazarene in Britt. In 1992 she graduated from Hawkeye Technical School with Honors in Drafting. She then moved to Forest City & worked for Winnebago Industries.





Her faith and family were very important to her. Darla loved playing 500 and was a wiz at Trivial Pursuit. She is survived by her daughters: Amber Allison of Mason City and Amanda Allison of Iowa City, her parents and three grandchildren, Madaline, Austin and Thain. Also surviving are seven sisters, a brother, 17 nieces & nephews and seven great-nieces & great-nephews.





Darla was preceded in death by her grandparents and a sister.
