Darlene Jeanette Wentworth

Darlene J. Wentworth, 75, of Forest City, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Forest City with Pastor Les Green officiating.

Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark St. Forest City, IA.

Burial will be held in Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the Darlene Wentworth memorial fund in care of the family.

Darlene Jeanette Wentworth was born July 4, 1941 in Kanawha, Iowa the daughter of Harm and Jenny (Luppen) Vrieze. She attended school and graduated from Thompson High School in 1959. She was married to Douglas Wentworth on July 10, 1963 in Emmons, MN, to this union two children, Mark and Lisa were born. Darlene worked at a few different banks before working at MBT Bank as a teller for many years, she then went on to work for customer service at Winnebago.

Darlene had a passion for cross-stitching, enjoyed gardening in her younger years, golfing, camping, cooking and baking and cruising with Doug in their vintage cars. She also enjoyed spending time in Arizona in the winters, something her and Doug did for over 10 years. Family was very important to Darlene and she especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandkids. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was a member of the Forest City United Methodist Church where she was active in many things through the years.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Doug of Forest City; two children, Mark (Sandra) Wentworth of Oxford, North Carolina and Lisa (Steve) Sunkle of Forest City; grandchildren, Douglas and Carey Wentworth, Zach (Caroline) Sunkle, Tyler (Gail) Sungram, Autumn Sunkle and Hunter Sunkle and great-grandchild, Zanerick Sunkle; one brother, Dwayne (Evelyn) Vrieze of Forest City and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
