Delores A. Nyhus

FOREST CITY - Delores A. Nyhus, age 79 of Forest City, died at her home in rural Forest City on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Pilot Knob Lutheran Church in rural Forest City with Pastor Robert Snitzer officiating. Burial will be at the Pilot Knob Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2013, from 4 to 6 PM at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home 505 N. Clark Street in Forest City and will continue an hour prior to service at the church.

Delores A. Nyhus was born on a farm in rural Forest City, Iowa on September 10, 1933, the daughter of Raymond and Evelyn (Leach) Morem. She attended country school near her home and graduated from Forest City High School. She graduated from the Mounds-Midway School of Nursing in St. Paul, MN. Delores was united in marriage to Norman Nyhus on August 14, 1955. She worked as a nurse at the Forest City Hospital and helped out on the farm.

She was a long-time member of Pilot Knob Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting with her friends there.

Delores is survived by her husband, Norman, of Forest City; two sons, Roger (Bonnie) Nyhus of Forest City and Ronald Nyhus of Clear Lake; two grandchildren, Craig (Laura) Nyhus of Sioux Falls, SD and Laura Nyhus of Gilbert, AZ;and a great-grandchild, Carter Nyhus of Sioux Falls, SD. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Harold Nyhus of Forest City; a sister, Donna (Harvey) Eden of Wesley, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Evelyn Morem.
