THOMPSON - Delores M. Anderson, age 72 of Thompson, died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson with Pastor Mark Decker officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, February 17th at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home 505 N Clark Street in Forest City and will continue an hour prior to service at the church.
Delores Margaret Anderson was born on July 13, 1938 on the N.K. Anderson farm southwest of Thompson, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Stella (Holtan) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church. She was a lifetime member of Bethany and was active in Circles and BLCW. She attended Thompson Community School, graduating in 1957.
Delores was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking. She cared for her parents on the farm until they passed away, moving to Thompson in 1998. She was well known for baking buns and kringla for others. Delores enjoyed fishing trips with her family and was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan.
Failing health forced her to enter the nursing home in June of 2009. She passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the age of 72 years.
Delores is survived by three brothers and their wives: Dean and June Anderson of Forest City; Donald and Donna Anderson of Thompson and Norris and Betty Anderson of Thompson; sister-in-law Ellen Anderson of Joice and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Marlin Anderson in 2008.
