GARNER- Dona L. Greiman, 78, of Garner died Sunday (December 30, 2007) at Concord Care Center in Garner.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Thursday at Peace Reformed Church south of Garner with Rev. Harvey Opp officiating. Burial will be in the Peace Reformed Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 P.M., Wednesday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials may be given to the Dona Greiman Memorial Fund.

Dona Loucille Greiman, the second daughter of Charles H. and Dorothy (Whitney) Bethke, was born September 30, 1929 at Garner. She graduated from Garner High School. On January 19, 1947 she was married to Clifford Greiman in Algona. They farmed south of Garner and raised and showed purebred Angus cattle. She co-owned and operated “Fashion Alley” boutique in downtown Garner. Dona managed Prairie View Apartments from 1977 to 1981 and 1986 to 1992. She also was a resident of Prairie View from 2000 to 2002. Due to ill health, she resided at Concord Care Center for the past six years. Dona enjoyed her family, friends, travels with Cliff to Sanibel Island, FL, spending time with Cliff vending ice cream at the Iowa State Fair and doing presentations on her vintage clothing collection.

She was a member of Peace Reformed Church where she served on the Women’s Missionary Society and taught Sunday school. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and served on post-prom parties for many years. Dona was a member of Iowa Tau Master Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and served as a Hancock County delegate to the Iowa Republican state convention. Dona wrote and directed the pageant for Garner’s Centennial Celebration in June of 1970. She was the chairperson along with writing and directing the theatre production of “Our Town” for Hancock County’s Bicentennial Celebration in June of 1976.

Dona is survived by her five children: daughter, Cherry (James) Brouwer of Bemidji, MN and their son, Andrew (Pam) and their two sons, Josh and Jacob; son, Chris Greiman of Waterloo and his children, Dustin (Amber), Kate and Cassi; daughter, Gay (Mike) Prohaska of Huxley and their children, Marisa (Doug) Kennedy, Jessa (Jared) Hill and their children, Riley, Bryton and Grady, Clint (Allison) and their daughter, Afton and Shandra; son, Cory (Florence “Sis”) Greiman of Garner and their children, Morgan and Zachary; son, Kurt (Tina) Greiman of Perry and their children, Haley, Abigail and Samuel; a sister, Patricia Stallings of Sedro Woolley, WA and her children, William and Joseph Holden of Washington and Polly Harvey of Alaska and their families; a brother-in-law, Don (Yvonne) Greiman of Garner and their two sons, Brad and Ted and their families; a sister-in-law, Shirley Greiman of West Hartford, CT and her two children, Jeffrey Zivic and Missy Urban and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, December 16, 1996; her mother, Dorothy, July 31, 1988; her father, Charles, February 6, 1976; and a nephew, Fred Stallings.
