Donna J. Tech

Donna J. Tech, 92, of Britt, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Kanawha Community Home.

A private family memorial service will be held in California.

Donna Jean Tech, the daughter of Herman and Margaret (Wibben) Willrett, was born October 11, 1930 in Algona. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona.  Donna Jean attended country school until second grade when she moved with her family to a farm near Britt.  She graduated from Britt High School in 1948. After high school she worked as a bank teller for First State Bank. On June 24, 1956, she was married to Frank Henerich Tech at First Lutheran Church in Britt. They were the first wedding held in the newly built church. Donna Jean and Frank lived in Britt where they raised their son, David. After Frank passed away unexpectedly in 1962, she continued to live in Britt.  In 2005, she moved to the apartment above Cataldo Funeral Home and was the resident manager assisting with visitations. In February of 2021, she moved to Kanawha Community Home. She enjoyed collecting dolls and flower gardening.

She was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church where she served as church organist for over 60 years.

Donna Jean is survived by her son, David (Jean) Tech of San Carlos, CA; grandson, Greg Tech of San Carlos, CA; brother, Richard Willrett of Palo Alto, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank, October 20, 1962; and brother, Frederick (MaryAnn) Willrett.
