Earl Lee Beshey, the son of Donald and June (Lattimer) Beshey, was born October 19, 1953, in Britt. He grew up on the family farm where he developed his passion for farming. Earl graduated from Britt High School in 1972. He loved working the soil, tending the crops and watching them grow. He also loved working with livestock. On July 23, 1977, he married Julie Rayhons and to this union three children were born: Eric, Evan and Nicole. He loved watching them grow from infants into adulthood.  Earl enjoyed watching their sporting events and encouraged them to always do their best. He turned the farming operation over to his sons and became a full-time over-the-road truck driver in 2005.  He was very proud of the businesses that all three of his children developed in their adult lives. On July 30, 2010, he married Terri Horn.  They made their home on an acreage southeast of Britt. Earl enjoyed taking his 1969 Roadrunner to car shows with Terri along with socializing with fellow car owners and sharing the history of his car. He enjoyed antiquing where he would find treasures of vintage tractors and farm equipment that he brought home to share with the grandkids that loved calling him Papa. He also took pride in his grandkids, attending activities as well as just spending time with them. Earl kept busy being outdoors, tinkering around the shop, mowing, and helping wherever he could.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garner.

Earl is survived by his wife, Terri of Britt; his three children, Eric (Nicole) Beshey of Garner, Evan (Jade) Beshey of Garner and Nicole (Jordan) Schubert of Nora Springs; step daughters, Joan (Anthony) Goodwin of Fort Leonard Wood, MO and Tasha (Kyle) Findley of Palatka, FL; eight grandchildren, Isabella, Boden, Ilee, Broker, Aizlyn, Dawson, Kyler and Kingsley; three step grandchildren, Lillian (Devon), Serenity and Kaelynn; two sisters, Connie (Mike) Richter of Britt and Lavonne (Bob) Kahl of High Springs, FL; brother, Jim (Jerri) Beshey of St Clair, MN; a sister-in-law, Annette Beshey, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
