Earl W. Fox, Jr.

FOREST CITY ñ Earl W. ìToadî Fox, Jr., 92, of Forest City died Friday (June 15, 2007) at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.



Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City with Rev. Jon Rollefson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Forest City.



Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Monday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services on Tuesday.



Earl W. ìToadî Fox, Jr., the son of Clyde and Jennie (Smith) Fox, was born November 30, 1914 in Ellington Township, Hancock County on the Abe Fox place. On August 20, 1934 he married Vivian Mae Nelson. Toad and Vivian had eight children, Beverly, Marsha, Ron, Tom, Mary Jane, John, Clifton and Craig. Toad worked various jobs in his 92 years, including working for veterinarian, Dr. Jerry Jorgensen, and also working the ring on sale days at the Forest City Sale Barn for 50 years. He retired from Winnebago Industries about 30 years ago. His favorite pastime was coon hunting.



He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of Forest City; children, Marsha, Ron, Tom, Mary Jane, John, Clifton and Craig; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill; and sisters, Margie, Jennie Mae and Helen Jean.



Toad was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Beverly; a granddaughter, Gail; 2 sons-in-law, Allan Berg and Rudy Martinson; 2 brothers, Kay and Creighton ìChicî; two sisters-in-law, Alice Fox and Kathryn Fox; and one brother-in-law, Roger Nelson.
