Eldon F. Boehnke, 81, of Clear Lake, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, April 22, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, east of Garner, with Rev. Carl Hedberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Sunday, April 21st at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., in Garner and will resume one hour prior to services at the church.
Eldon Frederick Boehnke, the son of Charles and Elsie (Berghoefer) Boehnke, was born March 12, 1938 on the family farm northwest of Ventura. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. He graduated from Ventura High School in 1956. Eldon farmed for most of his life near Ventura. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and playing cards. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.
He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Eldon is survived by his four children, Twyla Coe of Webster City, Melody (Rev. Daird) Korth of Latimer, Brent (Iris) Boehnke of Millington, TN and Lisa Boehnke (Jason Kisner) of Manly; nine grandchildren, Josh Coe (Natalie Berning), Amanda (Troy) Johnson, Sandra (Justin) Overland, Sarah (Travis) Stangel, Kirstie Pienta, Krystin Boehnke, Alexander Boehnke (Bill Long), Nicholas (Nichole) Pienta and Tyler Pienta; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Armand (Marjule) Boehnke of Burnsville, MN and Walter (Betty) Boehnke of Centennial, CO; two sisters-in-law, Louise Boehnke of Clear Lake and Dori Boehnke of Ventura; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Harold, Clarence and Roland Boehnke.
