Elizabeth A. Blockhus

Elizabeth Ann Blockhus 41, of Klemme, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, 313 Elder St, Klemme, IA with Pastor David Boogerd officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.  

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme.

Memorials may be directed to the family of Elizabeth Blockhus.

Elizabeth Ann Blockhus was born on August 21, 1982, In San Diego, California to Barry and Viane (Sanderson) Eichelberger. Elizabeth graduated in 2000 from North Fayette High School in West Union. On October 26, 2002, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Aaron Blockhus, in Fayette, Iowa. Following high school, Elizabeth obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate and went on to work for Concord Care Center in Garner for 19 years. First as a CNA and later as the dietary manager.

Elizabeth had a love for cooking, camping, music and spending time with family and friends.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Aaron and their children, Aydan, Makenna, Makinley and Ashtyn all of Klemme; parents, Barry and Viane Eichelberger of Hawkeye, Iowa; sisters, Rachel (Justin) Green of Truman, Minnesota and Emily (Mak) Klinkhammer of Dubuque; brother, Jonathan (fiancé Maddison McDonald) Eichelberger of Decorah; father and mother-in-law, Scott and Christy Blockhus of Elgin, Iowa; brother-in-law,Travis (Kari) Blockhus of Marion, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
