THOMPSON - Fredrick M. Fraizer, 56, of Thompson died Friday (December 8, 2006) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Memorial Service will be Monday, December 11, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Thompson with Pastor Wayne Squier and Pastor Wendy Johannssen officiating. Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM Sunday, December 10 at the funeral home.



Fredrick M. Fraizer was born in Forest City, Iowa on October 1, 1950, the son of Leo and Norma (Erickson) Fraizer. He grew up in Thompson and graduated from Thompson High School. He continued his education attending Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville and played football there.

From October 17, 1970 until 1994 he was married to Paula Bolty. Fred worked as a drainage contractor with his father until 1995 when he began working for 3M. On July 21, 1995, he was married to Mignon Blaine. The couple made their home in Thompson.





Fred was an active member of his community, serving as a volunteer fireman for 20 years, spent six years on the Thompson City Council and was very active in his church. He served on the School Consolidation Committee and was a Lions Club Member.





He liked to go fishing, especially at the cabin ìup northî, enjoyed a round of golf with friends, tried his hand at winemaking and treasured time spent with his grandchildren.





Fred is survived by his wife, Mignon Fraizer of Thompson and his children: Mike (Stephanie) Fraizer of Schweinfurt, Germany; Dan (Tracy) Fraizer of Sulzbach, Germany; Abigail Fraizer of West Des Moines, Iowa; Jacqueline (Todd) Olson of New Ulm, Minnesota. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Matthew Fraizer, Elizabeth Olson, Daniel Fraizer and Blaine Olson; a sister, Barb (Jim) Larson of Thompson, Iowa; uncle and aunt, Robert and Ione Erickson of Forest City, Iowa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kay and Gary Olsen of Mission, Texas.





Fred was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Virginia Ketchum, an aunt, Kay Boman and an uncle, James Erickson.
