Gary R. Sandifer

THOR - Gary R. Sandifer, age 52 of Thor, Iowa died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at his home in Thor.



Funeral service will be will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church in Forest City with Pastor Doug Farrell officiating.



Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.



Burial will be at Brush Point Cemetery in rural Fertile.



Gary R. Sandifer was born in Jackson, Mississippi on March 10, 1956, the son of Ray and Dolores (Jordan) Sandifer.



The family moved to Fertile in 1964. Gary received his education in Fertile schools and graduated from Forest City High School in 1974. He furthered his education at the Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He then attended Hamilton Business College and received his degree in business.



Gary worked as office manager for ADF Manufacturing in Humboldt, Iowa. He enjoyed "hobby" carpentry and had been remodeling his home. He liked to read and treasured time spent with his family.



Gary is survived by his parents, Ray and Dolores Sandifer of Fertile, Iowa, a brother and his wife, Rick and Kathy Sandifer of Hopatcong, New Jersey and their children, Kelly and Kristen. Also surviving are several uncles and aunts.



Gary was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
