Glenn A. Thada

Glenn A. Thada, 69, of Garner, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Cardinal Grove Assisted Living.

 Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Garner with Pastor Mark Lund officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4^th St., Garner and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

 Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice.

 Glenn Alan Thada, the son of Warren and Veronica (Liska) Thada, was born December 23, 1954, in Mason City. He graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1973. Glenn furthered his education at Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis to be a mechanic. He lived in Minneapolis for 17 years and operated a car repair shop. On March 18, 1989, he married Jody Furness at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They moved back to Garner and settled on the Thada family farm east of Garner. Glenn farmed until his retirement in 2022. He enjoyed working on his trucks, and spending time with Jody and the kids, including his grandchildren.

 He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee, deacon and usher.

 Glenn is survived by his wife, Jody, of Garner; three children, Joshua (Heather) Schulze of Clear Lake, Danielle (Cory) Graham of Lakeville, MN and Jeremy (Kaylea) Schulze of Garner; grandchildren, Morgan, Jared, Trevor and Kyle Graham, Scylar, Aiden and Aynslea Schulze and Ellie and Brooke Schulze; a great-granddaughter, Myla Graham; his sister, Marsha (Mike) Doebel of Clear Lake; nephew, Derek Doebel and his two children, Colton and Clara; his mother-in-law, Ruth Furness of Lake Mills; and a sister-in-law, Cathy (Randy) Jensen of Harlan, IA.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Veronica; father-in-law, Gerald Furness; aunts, Lillian Thada, Edna Thada, Doris Fosdick, Rosemary Schroeder and Barbara Nedved; and uncles, Leo, Walter, John, Donald and Cletus Liska.
