Griffin D. Shaw

MASON CITY - Griffin Daniel Shaw, 18, of Mason City, formerly of Forest City, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at his home.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday August 16, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Forest City with Rev. Charles Layton officiating.

There will be no visitation. Petersen Lund Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Griffin Shaw Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Griffin Daniel Shaw, the son of Dennis and Susan (Moore) Shaw, was born February 8, 1996 in Mason City. Griffin attended Forest City High School, graduating in 2013. After high school, Griffin worked several jobs around the North Iowa area. He enjoyed skateboarding, reading, snowboarding, watching movies, and loved his dogs Peko, Cooper and Muffin.

He was a member of Forest City United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Susan Shaw of Forest City; brother, Tobin Shaw of Forest City; maternal grandmother, Norma Moore of Minneapolis, KS; paternal grandmother, Geneva Shaw of Sebring, FL; uncles, Chuck (Rachel) Moore of Minneapolis, KS, and Doug (Cheryl) Shaw of Wauseon, OH; aunt, Vicki Glaze of Sebring, FL; special friend, Brooklynn O'Dell; and numerous cousins.

Griffin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kendall Moore; and paternal grandfather, Wayne "Red" Shaw.
