Harold H. Pueggel, 87, of Garner, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Concord Care Center in Garner.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church northeast of Garner with Rev. Carl Hedberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9 A.M. until service time at the church on Saturday.
Harold Herman Pueggel, the son of Herman and Emma (Boehnke) Pueggel, was born July 10, 1931 on the family farm northeast of Garner. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Harold attended St. John’s Parochial School until the eighth grade and graduated from Ventura High School in 1949. On November 25, 1951 he married Carol Anna Floy at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They lived all of their married life on the home place where they raised their family and farmed. Harold enjoyed riding and driving horses and traveling.
He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and belonged to Walther League, Fellowship Club and L.L.L.
Harold is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carol, of Garner; five children, Thomas (Julie) Pueggel of Garner, LeAnne (Tom) Buns of Garner, Lorraine (Alan) Mennenga of Meservey, Ruth (Gene) Bergmann of Ventura and Julie Oehlert of Clear Lake; a daughter-in-law, Julie Pueggel of Garner; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Gene Oetting of Seward, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark in 2017; and five sisters, Marie Moe, Evelyn Gronbach, Viola Monahan, Marlys Dreyer and Harriet Oetting.
