Harriet W. Elliott

FOREST CITY - Harriet Elliott, 94, of Forest City, went home to her Lord on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Concord Care Center in Garner.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Burial will be at the Bode Cemetery in Bode, Iowa.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Harriet was born to Johann and Johannes (Borge) Rongved on August 30, 1918, in Bode, IA. She graduated from high school in Rapid City, S.D. in 1937. Harriet moved to Fort Dodge where she met and married Donald Elliott on July 4, 1940. They lived for many years in Fort Dodge before moving to Forest City.

Harriet was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. She was an avid reader and loved doing jigsaw puzzles. For many years she was an active member of the Forest City Bowling Leagues.

Harriet is survived by her two children, Vicki Goodrich of Elgin, IL and Terry (Cindy) Elliott of Fort Dodge; and a sister, Laila of Milford. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Tricia, Sara, Justin, Joshua, Molly, Dennis, Austin and Gerrad; 13 great-grandchildren and four nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers and a sister.

Memorials may be made to the Louis Rabiner Boys Home in Fort Dodge.
