James L. Yutzy

James L. Yutzy, 93, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in Garner where he lived with his son and daughter-in-law, for the last 10 months.

A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Price Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Meyersdale, PA  15552.  Cataldo Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

James Leroy Yutzy, the son of John and Alice (Miller) Yutzy, was born on April 21, 1930, in Pocahontas, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Pocahontas but lived most of his life in Akron, Ohio. He is now reunited with the love of his life, Alma, and wonderful son, Ken along with many other family members and friends. We know he was welcomed into heaven with open arms by all who knew him. James was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956.  James worked for General Tire, PPG, and retired from Akron Recycle Plant. He loved spending time with family and friends, doing yard work, gardening, and sharing his vegetables with everyone.

James is survived by his sons, Bob (Linda) Yutzy and John (Joyce) Yutzy; daughter, Sandy (Mark) Spangler; eleven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl; and sisters, Ruth, Grace, and Thelma.
