Janet West

FOREST CITY - Janet West, 79, of Forest City, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City.

As per her wishes, her body has been cremated.

Her children will have a private family gathering at a later date.

Janet Jean West was born on February 6, 1934 in Britt, Iowa. She was the daughter of Forrest and Fern (Fillenwarth) Reibsamen. Janet was a graduate of the Britt High School. Janet married Cletus West in August, 1954 in Britt, Iowa and lived in Wesley Iowa. They later divorced and Janet made her home in Forest City. She worked at Stitchcraft, Winnebago Industries for 29 years. Janet was a very talented seamstress and she also did beautiful stitch craft needlework and crocheting.

Survivors include her nine children, LuAnn (Douglas) Widen, Cedar Falls, LaDonna (Charles) Struckman, Bellevue, Mike (Janis) West, Wesley, Pat West, Mason City, Lynnette (John) Sorensen, West Des Moines, Lorri (Greg) Helleckson, Reno Nevada, Linda (Greg) Hendren, Cedar Falls, Rob (Danae) West, Des Moines and Rich West, Des Moines; 24 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; her long time friend, David Courtney, Forest City; a brother, Bill Reibsamen, Hampton. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Reibsamen.
