Janice A. Johnson, 78, of Hayfield, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Wayne Halvorson officiating.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday until the start of the service at the church.
Interment will be in Crystal Lake Township Cemetery in Crystal Lake, Iowa.
Memorials may be directed to the Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa.
Janice Arlene Johnson was born January 30, 1939 in Winnebago County, Iowa, the daughter of Loren and Irene (Siebert) Farrell. She was educated and graduated from Crystal Lake Schools, graduating in 1965. Janice was married to Roger Johnson on August 31, 1957, to this union, three sons were born. Janice enjoyed taking care of her home and raising her sons. She worked for Stitchcraft at Winnebago Industries for a few years as well.
Janice had a strong faith, God was important to her and she strived to live her life that way. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and painting. She was an active member of the Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church where she enjoyed being part of the ladies’ groups and volunteering anyway she could. Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janice is survived by her two sons, Joel (Wendy) Johnson of Clive, Arlyn D. Johnson; grandchildren, Haiden and Grace Johnson, Alyssa (John) Marzen of Altoona, IA, Kelsey Johnson of Ankeny and Christopher Johnson of Urbandale; great-grandchild, Angeleah Johnson; siblings, Lucille (Loren) Renze, David (Gwen) Farrell, Gordon (Carla) Farrell, Irene Dow and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger D. Johnson in 2004; son, Lon Johnson; brothers, Robert “Bob” Farrell and Loren “Buddy” Farrell.
