John M. Brock was born May 5, 1958. The son of Choen and Norma Brock.
He was a graduate of Forest City High School in 1976.

He worked at Mitz and Berthas at a young age. One year he ventured out west for wheat harvest with uncle Bob. Afterwards he worked at several places including 3M Industries, Winnebago Industries, Spahn & Rose Lumber, and he was currently worked at Branstad Farms.

John married Cheryl in 1978, together they had one son, Branden Brock.
He then later married Dawn in 1989 and brought with her, her son Darin Perkins Jr.
Together they adopted Makenzie Hoeft-Brock in 2006.

He loved to ride his Harley; especially on the Memorial run every September for his son Branden. He enjoyed demolition derby’s, earning many of trophies through the years. He loved riding snowmobiles, getting stuck and doing dumb things. Loved to repair anything he could get his hands on. (we even had to hide the grey tape.) Driving his beloved 57 Chevy and two-stepping at every wedding are also things he enjoyed very much.

He hated peas; There was never a moment where he wouldn’t bring that up Buuuut he had a love for food. The most important thing to him was his family. He brought a smile to anyone and everyone who chatted with him. He was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend to so so many. We will very much miss his infectious loud joyous laugh.

He was survived by his wife Dawn Brock; daughter, Makenzie Hoeft-Brock; mother-in- law, Carmen Holland, sister-in law Cyndi(Alan) Vanderweyden; sister, Trudy (Larry) Folkerts; brother, Rickie Brock; sister, Jodene (Gary) Bartleson; sister, Rhonda King; brother, Terrel (Tammy) Brock; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
