FOREST CITY - Junice H. Brown, 97, of Forest City died Wednesday (February 9, 2011) at the Good Samaritan Society in Forest City.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 12th at West Prairie Lutheran Church near Leland with Rev. Timothy Miller officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Junice Hilma Brown, the daughter of Albert and Toni (Olson) Langerud, was born September 20, 1913 on a farm north of Forest City. She attended Fisher country school near her home and graduated from Leland High School. On February 2, 1934 she was married to John Brown in Kanawha. They farmed southwest of Britt until 1953 when they moved to the Langerud family farm north of Forest City. Besides helping on the farm Junice also worked as a waitress in several restaurants in the area. After John passed away in 1987 she moved into Leland. She enjoyed making lefsa, sewing, quilting, flower gardening and dancing.
She was a member of West Prairie Lutheran Church and the Naomi Circle.
Junice is survived by a sister, Marlys Haugen of Leland; a brother, Albert, Jr. (Frances) Langerud of Paris, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, John, Jr. in 1973; and sisters, Hazel, Stena, Edith, Amie, twin sister Jeniva, Esther, Doris and Hazel.
