Karen Ann Geddes, 77, formerly of Forest City, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Las Vegas Solari Hospice Care Facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 3, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church in Forest City. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St., in Forest City.
Memorials may be directed to the Karen Ann Geddes memorial fund in care of the family.
Karen Ann Geddes, the daughter of LeRoy and Helena (Austin) Zuehl was born August 2, 1938 in Britt, IA. She graduated from Britt High School in 1956. On Feb 1st, 1958 she married Dean Geddes at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City, IA. They lived in Florida, Alaska, Iowa, Arizona, and Nevada.
She loved cooking, baking and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed her job working as a beautician for 35 years. She loved playing cards, knitting, crocheting, and watching her favorite soaps. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NV.
Karen is survived by 2 children, Greg (Debbie) Geddes of Sioux Falls, SD and Dawn (Muzi) Naim of Las Vegas, NV; 8 grandchildren, Quinten Geddes, Minneapolis, MN, Christian Geddes, Rochester, MN, Alex Geddes, Sioux Falls, SD, Isabella Naim, Las Vegas, NV, Alisha (Jacob) Andring, Pasco, WA, Amanda Geddes, Kennewick, WA, Steven (JaVonna) Geddes, Ft. Stewart, GA, and Adam Geddes, Kennewick, WA; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaya Miller, Kennewick, WA, Jesse Andring, Pasco, WA, Mason VanHeel, Ft. Stewart, GA, and Steven Geddes, Ft. Stewart, GA; two brothers, Denny Zuehl, Britt, IA, and Dick (Ruth) Zuehl of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister, Patty (Roger) Smith Perry, IA; daughter-in-law, Susan Geddes, Kennewick, WA; sister-in-law, Maryrose Harrington, Apache Junction, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dean (1989), son, Mike Geddes (1981) and son, Steve Geddes (2007); brother and sister-in-law, Don and Shirley Geddes; niece, Molly Jo Geddes; nephew, Danny Smith; and sister-in-law, June Zuehl.
