Karen Jolene Brock, 65, of Forest City, died peacefully, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, with Pastor Zech Anderson officiating.
Visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark St. Forest City, IA 50436
Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Karen Jolene Brock was born April 15, 1952 in Forest City, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Dorothy (Branstad) Book. She attended Forest City Schools, graduating in 1970. She was married to Rickie Brock on July 15, 1972, to this union three children were born, Jason, Tammy and Shane. She lived in Forest City, then moved to Sac City for a few years before returning. She worked for Winnebago Industries for many years. Karen loved to camp and sit around the campfire with friends and family. She enjoyed motorcycle rides, crocheting, watching demo derby’s, tubing down the river and playing cards with her family. Karen was a great cook and loved cooking for her family, especially her famous spaghetti and meatballs. She loved the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Karen is survived by her husband, Rickie Brock of Forest City; children, Jason (Tamie) Brock of Forest City, Tammy (Allan) Hauge of Lake Mills and Shane (Ranae Aukes) Brock of Forest City; grandchildren, Mike Froendt, Samantha Froendt, Jennifer Brock, Allan Hauge Jr. (Marissa Troe), Jerry Hauge, Seth Brock, Toby Brock and Emily Aukes; siblings, Lanne (Pat) Book of Klemme, IA, Duane Book of Fertile, Gary (Pat) Book of Garner, IA, Patty Brighton of Forest City, Nancy (Roger) Kabe of AZ and many nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Choen Brock; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Book and dear friends, Sandy and Richard Hansen.
