GARNER - Kelly W. Dirksen, age 41 of rural Garner, died on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at his home.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church in Forest City with Pastor Douglas Farrell officiating.
Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Mason City. Visitation will be an hour prior to service at the church.
Kelly W. Dirksen was born on March 14, 1968 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the son of George and Elizabeth (Graff) Dirksen. He attended Garner High School.
On November 24, 1990 he was married to Kimberley Thompson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Kelly loved being with his family. Riding bikes with the kids, going swimming, making salsa ~ just being together was enough for Kelly and that included his dogs and his old kitty cat. He liked helping his father out and enjoyed working in his garage and his potato garden.
Kelly worked for many years at Curries in Mason City. He worked for R&G Construction and most recently for Blattner Energy.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Kimberley and his children: Benjamin Andrew Dirksen, Gabrielle Elizabeth Dirksen and Stacey (David) Bowers. Also surviving is his father, George Dirksen and his siblings: Kathy Dirksen (Roy Keough); Keith Dirksen (Angel); Kenneth Dirksen (Patty); Kurt Dirksen (Cynthia) Kevin Dirksen and 16 nieces and nephews.
Kelly was preceded in death by a son, Andrew John Dirksen, his mother Elizabeth Dirksen and a couple of very close friends.
