Leo H. Wood, 91, of Garner died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Concord Care Center in Garner.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, October 21st at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Frs. Jim Dubert and Paul Lippstock officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with military rites by the Garner Veterans Ceremonial Unit.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 P.M. to 7 P.M., Friday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner with a Scriptural wake service at 4 P.M. followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary. Visitation will resume one hour prior to services at the church.

Leo H. Wood, 91, of Garner died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Concord Care Center in Garner.
Leo Henry Wood, the son of Everett and Florence (Rielly) Wood, was born February 23, 1926, at Cedar Rapids. He grew up in the Cedar Rapids area where he attended country school. Leo served his country during WW II in the U.S. Navy for two years until his honorable discharge in May of 1946. On June 10, 1946, he married Mary Sherbon at Walker, Iowa. They lived and farmed near Cedar Rapids, Mason City and Clear Lake until his retirement. Leo was proud to have begun his farming career behind a horse and plow and ending it driving computer guided farm equipment. In 1991, Leo and Mary moved into Garner. He enjoyed his family, woodworking, doing yard work, fishing and teaching his grandchildren gardening.
He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Loyal Order of the Moose and was a life-time member of the VFW.
Leo is survived by his wife, Mary, of Garner; children, Wanda Kunzman of Mason City, Stephen Wood of Charles City, Frank (Mary Lou) Wood of Mason City, David (Denise) Wood of Mason City, Jeanne Hefty of Conrad, IA, Alan Wood of Clear Lake, Rose Monson of Clear Lake, Charles (Tina) Wood of Webster, WI, Diana McCombe of Rushville, IL, Tom Wood of Garner, Dale (Missy) Wood of Rockford, Paul (Lori) Wood of Clear Lake and Annie Wood of Mason City; two daughters-in-law, Donna Wood of Albert Lea, MN and Anne Wood of Cedar Rapids; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Plavak of Illinois and Teresa Schmikle of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Leo, Jr.; two sons, John and Dean Wood; two brothers, Joe and Leroy Wood; and three sisters, Dolores, Henrietta and Dorothy.
