Linda K. Finn

GARNER – Linda K. Finn, 68, of Garner died Sunday, January 24th surrounded by her children at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City after a courageous three-year battle with lung cancer.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 30th at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner with Rev. Scott Kozisek officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., in Garner and will resume one hour prior to services at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the Linda Finn Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Linda Kaye Finn, the daughter of Orvin and Marie (Petersen) Ellingson, was born August 17, 1947, in Mason City. She attended Northwood Kensett Community Schools. Linda was married to Brian Patrick Finn at the Kensett Lutheran Church. The couple later divorced. She lived in North Platte, NE for a time before moving to Lake Mills in 1969 where she was employed at Deluxe Products. Linda then went back to school and received a welding diploma from NIACC in Mason City. In March of 1976, she began working as a welder at IMT in Garner. In 1985, she moved from Northwood to Garner. Linda was employed in the east parts room at IMT up until this past month after thirty-eight years of faithful service to the company. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her cats and gardening.

She was a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 238.

Linda is survived by her two children, 1SG Kelly (Julie) Vedane-Finn of Rogersville, MO and Mollie Hueneman of Garner; grandchildren, Tayler (Chace) Doyal, Madison Finn (fiancé, Justen Brown), Ashley Anderson, PFC Zachary Hueneman, Trevor Hueneman and Jake Hueneman; great grandchildren, Harper and Easton Doyal; sister, Sandra Boutelle of Mission, KS; nephews and nieces, Steven (Pam) Boutelle, Tina Boutelle, Heather (Ken) Drake and Dallas (Amanda) Ellingson; extended family, Brian, Willi and Kyle Finn, Meghan and Ryan Gubin, Fran Ellingson, Rose Ellingson and Helen and Tom Neibauer; and many more family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dallas Ellingson; son-in-law, David Hueneman; and brother-in-law, Craig Boutelle.
