Lois M Harms

Lois M, Harms, 88, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2019 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient in Mason City Unit with her daughter by her side.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 N. Clark St., in Forest City with Pastor Eric Weaver of First Baptist Church of Forest City officiating.

Burial will be at Madison Township Cemetery

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. till the time of the services at the funeral home on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Lois May (Weaver) Harms, was the daughter of Herman J and Katie (Nelson) Weaver. She was born in Whittemore, Iowa and grew up around the Thompson area. She worked various jobs throughout her life and enjoyed many hobbies. Billiards and bowling were two of her favorites, from which she received many trophies.

She participated in a monthly birthday club and enjoyed hosting many events at her home. Lois also loved decorating her home for every holiday, working in the flower garden with her husband, Leonard, and traveling South for the winter months.

Family member left to cherish her loving memory are her daughter, Yvonne Lawson of Lake Mills, Iowa, granddaughters Stacy (Brian) Smith of Des Moines, Iowa and Melinda (Kevin) Pederson of Forest City, Iowa and grandson, John Lawson of Buffalo Center, Iowa. Five step-children and their families. Two sons, Duane (Ruth) Harms of Crystal Lake, Iowa and their daughters Beth and Rachel, Dean (Wendy) Harms of Britt, Iowa and their daughters Danielle and Paige. Three daughters, Janice (John) Allen of California City, California, and their children Michael and Melanie, Diane (James) Krejci of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, and their children Amy, Jill, Lori and Jon, Nancy (Lloyd) McIntire of Lisbon, Iowa and their children Lucas, Aric, and Leah. One brother, Cecil (Paula) Weaver of Mason City, Iowa and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Harms, a son-in law, Larry Lawson, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
