Loren G. Roberts, 79, of Britt died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 23rd at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woden with Rev. S. Kim Peterson officiating. Inurnment will be at Bingham Township Cemetery south of Woden.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Woden and will resume one hour prior to services at the church.
Loren George Roberts, the son of Ray and Emily (Reed) Roberts, was born December 7, 1937, at New Ulm, Minnesota. Loren grew up in Madison, South Dakota where he graduated from high school in 1955. On April 7, 1957, he married Donna Mae Rundle in Madison. Loren continued his education at Dakota State University in Madison where he received his teaching degree. In 1965, Loren and Donna Mae moved to a farm north of Britt where Loren farmed and taught industrial arts at Woden Crystal Lake High School. In 1971, he left teaching and began working at Winnebago Industries in Forest City for ten years. He then returned to teaching at WCLT where he retired from in 2000. In his retirement, he drove school bus for the school. He enjoyed wintering in Tucson, AZ, horses, woodworking and fishing.
Loren is survived by his daughter, Mona (Denny) Buns of Woden; two grandchildren, Rayshel (Cody) Witte and Thomas Buns (fiancée, Samantha); great grandchildren, Coen, Embree, Tayten and Trinlee Witte and Avery Bock; a brother-in-law, David Exe of Albuquerque, NM; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Neuman of Long Prairie, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna Mae, May 6, 2015; and sister, Lynn Exe.
