Lorna K. Ong

Lorna K. Ong, 80, of Garner died Monday, August 21, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Garner.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date in Ohio. There will be no visitation. Cataldo Funeral Home of Garner is in charge of arrangements.

Lorna Kathryn Ong, the daughter of Maxwell and Margaret (Mellott) Martin, was born May 3, 1937, in Piqua, Ohio. She attended school in Piqua where she graduated from high school. On February 13, 1969 Lorna was married to William Ong and together they raised 5 children. Lorna attended The Ohio State University and worked as an Accountant while the family moved from Ohio to Indiana, Iowa, and Florida. They eventually retired working flea markets for several years and moved to Garner in 2011. Lorna enjoyed reading and collecting books, watching Ohio State football games and spending time with her family.

Lorna is survived by her five children, William (Sherie) Ong of Brooklyn, MI, Teri (Kenny) Engstler of Garner, Merri Wogaman of Columbus, OH, James (Roy) Wogaman of Akron, OH and John (Erin) Wogaman of Colorado Springs, CO; fourteen grandchildren, Elijah, Sarah, Sidney, Matthew, Olivia, Wyatt, Bryan, Nicole, Mitch, Olivia, Morgan, Kyle, Evan and Calla; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Luann Martin and partner, Ben Hilbun of Cherokee Village, AR; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William in 2014; grandson, Justin Lunning in 2005; and a brother, Mel Martin.
