Lorraine Maron (Hagenson) Osheim was born December 11, 1922, on the family farm near Thompson. On June 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to Vernon Osheim, and to this union four children were born. They made their home in Thompson their entire lives. Vernon passed away January 6, 2012, and shortly thereafter, Lorraine moved to Forest Plaza Assisted Living in Forest City, and most recently resided at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Lorraine worked many years as postal clerk in Thompson, Rake, and Lakota. She was an excellent homemaker who loved to cook, preserve and freeze her bountiful garden produce.
She and Vernon enjoyed camping and traveling in their motorhome. They traveled all over the United States, visiting every state but Hawaii and Florida. They especially loved to attend Bluegrass festivals.
Lorraine could always be found playing cards with other Good Sam residents and visitors. Her quick wit always brought a big smile and a hearty chuckle. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Lorraine is survived by her four children, Mary Ann (Irven) Olsen of Thompson, Colleen Haugen (Russell) of Thompson, Charles (Kristi) Osheim of Thompson, and Donna (Randy) Miller of Leland, IA; her twelve grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Olsen of North Mankato, MN, Steven Olsen of Thompson, Kristine (Joe) Kidder of Rosemount, MN, Kathy (Brandon) Zender of North Mankato, MN, James (Tuesday) Haugen of Woodbury, MN, Jason (Laura) Haugen of Farmington, MN, Jill (Blake) Jones of North Mankato, MN, Lisa (Matthew) Brozik of North Mankato, MN, Amy (Ross) Long of Fairmont, MN, Lorissa Rollefson of Indianola, IA, Justin (Oakley) Rollefson of Tempe, AZ, and Jeremy (Olivia) Rollefson of Rockford, IL, as well as twenty-one great-grandchildren and one more soon to arrive.
