Marcus Allan Curry, an amazing father, son, brother, grandson, and uncle died unexpectedly on July 16, 2018 at age 29 in a motorcycle accident at Pilot Knob State Park.
A celebration of life is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. with the service at 2:30 p.m. on
Saturday, July 21 at Cataldo Schott Funeral Home (505 North Clark Street Forest City,
Iowa 50436). Informal gathering of friends and family Friday, July 20 from 7 - 8:30 at
First Baptist Church 18508 IA-9, Forest City, IA 50436.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made towards Kyla’s education (Kyla Mae Curry Education).
Marcus is survived by his parents, Keith (Shelly) Curry, Roxie (Kent) Krominga; his
Daughter, Kyla (mother Morgan Smith); his siblings, Monica Harman, Megan Johns,
Shyan Curry, and Cale Curry; grandparent, Betty Johnson and Don Curry; niece and
Nephews, Avery Harman, Jaymison Langfald PVTII, Maxwell Wagner, and David
Hawbaker III. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Floyd Johnson and Elaine
Curry; and brother-in-law, Don Harman.
Marcus was born in Mason City, Iowa on March 13, 1989 to Keith Curry and Roxie
Krominga. He grew up in Forest City, Iowa. He graduated from Forest City High School
in May 2007. Marcus spent approximately 15 years working at River Bend Farms of
rural Forest City. On October 20, 2016 he welcomed his beautiful daughter Kyla Mae
Curry into this world. Kyla was the light of his life.
Marcus was a devoted father. Some of his favorite activities to do with Kyla were playing outdoors, watching movies, listening to music, rocking her to sleep and snuggling.
When he wasn’t spending time with Kyla, he enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, riding
motorcycles, hiking, farming, cats, basketball, and any outdoor activity. He liked
spending time with his family and friends. Family holidays and traditions were very
important to him. Marcus was a true Husker fan. He will be deeply missed by his
friends, family, and all who knew him.
