Marjorie Iva Braadland

Marjorie Iva Braadland, age 67 of Woden, died Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 1:30 PM at Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City with Rev. Arlen Lloyd officiating. There will be no visitation.



Marjorie Iva Braadland was born on a farm near Buffalo Center, Iowa on November 26, 1938, the second of five children to Martin and Ada (Berryhill) Wubben.





In 1956, she graduated from Buffalo Center High School. Marjorie graduated from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa with a degree in Education. She was a substitute teacher for several years. She also enjoyed her work of many years as a nursing assistant.





On October 30, 1965, Marjorie was united in marriage to Merle Braadland in Elmore, Minnesota. The couple lived on a farm south of Thompson, Iowa for 16 years. They also lived in Wisconsin for 18 years.





Marjorie died at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was 67 years old.





Marjorie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Merle Braadland of Woden, five daughters and two sons: Vivian (Steven) Heller of Forest City, William Braadland of Buffalo Center, Vanita (Robert) Preska of Bloomington, MN, John Braadland of Dodge City, Kansas, Valjean Lockington of La Farge, WI, and Violet (Robert) Thelen of La Forge, WI and Victoria Braadland of Woden. Also surviving is her mother, Ada Wubben of Buffalo Center, 21 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and four siblings: Elizabeth Gifford of Slater, IA, Neil Wubben of Osage, IA, Aldean Gramstad of Sweat City, IA and Mary Behrends of Lone Rock, IA.





She was preceded in death by her father , Martin Wubben and a grandson, Eric Heller.
