CLEAR LAKE - Mary Ann Kopacek, 66, of Opportunity Village in Clear Lake died Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, May 16th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt with Fr. Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Wednesday at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt with a Scriptural wake service at 7 P.M. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Opportunity Village in Clear Lake or Hospice of North Iowa.

Mary Ann Kopacek, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Trca) Kopacek, was born April 16, 1947 at Britt. She lived with her parents on their farm south of Duncan until 1976 when she moved to Handicap Village in Clear Lake now known as Opportunity Village. Mary Ann spent her summers at Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines and Camp Courageous in Monticello. She loved spending time with her family, emailing friends and family, writing poetry in the computer lab at Opportunity Village and being outdoors.

She attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake.

Mary Ann is survived by her sister, Bonnie Pals of Britt; two brothers, Tom (Jenny) Kopacek of Blaine, MN and Fr. Jerry Kopacek of Waterloo; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; also her friends at Opportunity Village.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Bev Hiscocks.
