Maxine K. McCabe, 97, of Garner, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at Concord Care Center in Garner.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Fr. Andrew Marr officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner with a Scriptural wake service at 3:30 p.m. followed by a parish rosary led by Margaret Young.
Memorial may be directed to St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Maxine Katharin McCabe, the daughter of Ben and Elizabeth (Pfeffer) Leeck, was born August 15, 1927 in Burt, Iowa. She completed her education at Burt High School before pursuing beauty school in Fort Dodge. On November 20, 1948, Maxine married Maurice McCabe at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Fort Dodge. The couple lived in Clare and Somers, Iowa, before establishing their home on a farm east of Garner in 1956, where they dedicated themselves to farming and nurturing their five sons. Maxine embraced the joys of country life and was known for her unwavering devotion as a wife and mother. Her sons fondly recall her care, especially the lunches she would bring them during the busy planting and harvesting seasons.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Maxine is survived by her sons, Patrick (Kathleen) McCabe of Mankato, MN, Gary McCabe of Garner, Ron McCabe of Garner, and Doug (Dianne) McCabe of Garner; her grandchildren, Ryan (Kristin) McCabe, Josephs’ widow, Virginia, and daughter, Gisele and son, Conor, Jonathan (Brittany) McCabe and their three children, Gabrielle, Jonathan Jr., and William, Hope (David) Wheatcraft and their daughters, Abigail Wheatcraft, and Amy (Max) Alfaro, along with Kris (Alan) Enabnit and their children, Alana (Miles) Scarano, Alex Enabnit, and Autumn Enabnit. She also leaves behind a great-great-grandson, Axel Scarano; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maurice in 2008; son, Dennis in 2022; grandson, Joseph McCabe; and brother, Leonard (Doris) Leeck.
Maxine will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and the love she shared with her family.
