FOREST CITY - Michael B. Douglas, 57, of Forest City, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at his home in Forest City.
As per his wishes, his body has been cremated and there will no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, January 8, 2012 at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home 505 N Clark Street in Forest City with Pastor Jerald Swanberg of the Forest City United Methodist Church officiating.
Michael Brian Douglas was born on May 15, 1955 in Albia, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Agnes (Geertz) Douglas. His family moved around so Mike grew up in several Iowa communities with Ottumwa and Iowa City among them.
He later made his home in Forest City where he began working for Winnebago Industries and has continued there ever since, a career spanning over 30 years.
Mike was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors and animals. He treasured time spent with his family and enjoyed taking them camping.
He passed away at his home in rural Forest City on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the age of 57 years.
Mike is survived by his sons: Joshua (Jacqlyn) Douglas and Matthew Douglas, both of Forest City, a grandson Miles Douglas of Forest City and a grandchild pending. He is also survived by two sisters, Paula Milam and Marie Westerholt and three brothers, Geoff Douglas, Mark Douglas and Pat Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
