TUCSON, AZ - Mildred Lenihan, 94, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Manly, died Thursday (June 11, 2009) in Tucson.
Graveside services will be held 10 AM, Wednesday at Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme with Rev. David Wagner officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Tuesday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.
Mildred Bernice Lenihan, the daughter of George and Mary (Ludeke) Schoenwetter was born September 1, 1914 at Garner. She attended the rural schools of Liberty Township and graduated from Klemme High School. Mildred continued her education at Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls. She later taught in several country schools in Iowa before going to work for Wilson's Packing Company in Iowa City. She retired to the Manly area before moving to Tucson in February of 2000.
She is survived by her son, Maynard (Martha) Weisbrod of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren, Michelle (Julio) Martinez, Mark (Diana) Weisbrod, Michael (Loraine) Weisbrod, Mason (Michelle) Weisbrod, Allen Birkbeck and Becky (Chris) Risk; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ada Schoenwetter of Garner.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Schoenwetter; husbands, Milton Weisbrod and Richard Lenihan; daughter, Marlene Birkbeck; and brothers, Homer and Howard Schoenwetter.
