Milton A. Boman went to rest with his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Cedars Assisted Living Home in Madrid, Iowa.
A private family service was held.

Milton Alfred Boman, the son of Alfred and Ellen (Benson) Boman was born February 8, 1918 in the family farm home in Forest City, Iowa. He attended Forest City High School. After graduation, he entered the Coast Guard in 1942 and served 4 years on both coasts training guard dogs. Milton was one of the last surviving World World II Veterans. He returned home and married Helen Arlene Nelson in 1948 at the First Baptist Church in Forest City. Milton and Helen raised three children on the family homestead where he farmed well into his 80s. They celebrated 63 years together before Helen's passing in March of 2012. Besides farming, he was a Trustee for Hancock County for 45 years. He was a Director of Hancock Mutual Insurance Association and also director for Capital Security Life Insurance Company for many years. After retiring, he and Helen moved to Garner, Iowa. He was a member of First Baptist Church. His hobbies included art, music, and cars, and he had a love for animals and nature. He will be remembered for his kind heart and handsome smile.
He is survived by three children, Cynthia (Bob) Cramer of Boone, Wesley (Cherie) Boman of Klemme and Trudy (Tom) Burford of Johnston; grandchildren, Reynolds, John (Gina), and Erika Cramer, Sally (Michael) Lynick, Katie and Betsy Boman, Thomas Ryan (Tiffany) and Anna Burford; and eight great grandchildren.
